Alien Autopsy Face-Off!

The Question:

Which alien is more realistic?

Category: Creativity

A.8 kb B.5 kb

Our judges really liked the creative poses of which Alien B was capable, compared to the static positioning of Alien A.

In general the judges also thought Alien A was just too human in appearance to be interesting, while Alien B was clearly inhuman and therefore spookier.

Winner: B

Again, our judges called attention to Alien A's being so obviously stiff and rubbery, while Alien B appeared realistically soft and fleshy. Note the way Alien A's shoulders stand out horizontally while Alien B's shoulders sag nicely.

Winner: B

The panel felt the creators of Alien B had done their homework better than the folks who made Alien A.
For example, A's vestigial ears and six fingers and toes were all nicely done but not in keeping with the standard "alien" description.

Alien B

While Alien A won great points with our panel for being very well-done without apparent backing of a major studio, the clear winner is Alien B, created by Steve Johnson's XFX company for Showtime's Roswell telefilm. Congratulations to both our contestants!
